This is thoroughly sickeningly in its heaviness, in it's relenting battering of the senses, and if you like Meshuggah, All Shall Perish, and Job For A Cowboy, you're in for an absolute treat with this one! Takes a few listens to really get into the rhythms, but when it clicks, the whole thing seems about 50 times heavier again! Ravaging chugs, dischords to kill to and vocals to hang yourself by.
Some bands are just built to take your head off and California based blast-metallers Suicide Silence are one of those bands. Mixing chaotic Dillinger Escape Plan like whacked out fretwork with a Cannibal Corpse style chug, Suicide Silence play the sort of metal that, given the right live setting would cause absolute pandemonium in the pit. Playing with the kind of ferocity that only comes from relentless touring, Suicide Silence are up their with the best of the underground metal scene, this band kill it!
The sound track to a personal war with insanity, anger and hatred, led by vocalist mitch Lucker who has mastered screaming, grunting and growling to produce frightening results.
This is the brand new UK version of Suicide Silence's amazing debut to coincide with their UK tour OCT 2006. The UK version now includes the classic video of "Distorted Thought Of Addiction" as well as the video for "Destruction Of A Statue" + a proper enhanced CD with promo and live pictures of the band. The Cd also has brand new artwork from Dan Mumford who designed the Gallows artwork. Suicide Silence Band Page www.myspace.com/suicidesilence

Extreme Metallic Terror From California
The Line between brutal death metal and post-Dillinger mathcore is now so completely blurred that it's hard to know exactly who Suicide Silence are trying to appeal to here. What really matters, however, is that they are 100 per cent shit hot. Tighter than a mallard's shit-chute and with pockets bulging with great riffs, spin-on-a-penny tempo shifts and hair-raising dynamic about turns, these young Americans have already mastered their art. And, judging by the live film of the band on this CD performing 'Destruction Of A Statue'. they're a staggering prospect inn the flesh too. These reprobates could well be the future of death. Rocksound 8/10
Often the success of a debut release can decide a group's future fate. In other words, if a band fall at the first hurdle it's either back to the drawing board or back to the nine-to-five day job, as they say. Suicide Silence's self titled debut mini-album fortunately leaps 2,000 feet over the first hurdle with this impressive blast of hardcore grind and technical death metal. All the way from Riverside, California, these guys can pack punches as big as Cephalic Carnage and the rest of them. Vocalist Mitch Lucker's contorted growls represent one of the more outstanding features on this five tracker, though his voice is well complemented by two impressive guitarists - Chris Garza & Mark Heylmun. buy this if you dare.
Zero Tolerence 5/5
I've had a copy of this absolutely monstrous Cd for a little while before receiving it to spout forth nonsense about it, so knew what to expect, thankfully. This is thoroughly sickeningly in its heaviness, in it's relenting battering of the senses, and if you like Meshuggah, My Cross to Bare, Origin, All Shall Perish, Iniquity and Job For A Cowboy, you're in for an absolute treat with this one! Takes a few listens to really get into the rhythms, but when it clicks, the whole thing seems about 50 times heavier again! Ravaging chugs, dischords to kill to and vocals to hang yourself by.
